The first leg of our trip was to drive our rental car from Osprey, Florida to the Tampa airport very early on Thursday, November 19, 2015. We then flew from Tampa to Houston (with 8 pieces of luggage) via United Airlines. After collecting our suitcases and lugging everything to the international terminal we found our way to the counters of Singapore Airlines. Our flight from Houston to Moscow was at 4:45 pm. We arrived in Moscow at 1:00 pm on Friday the 20th. We were able to get a taxi to our hotel which was a one hour drive.

Tverskaya Street is very important and usually very busy. It is at least seven lanes across and pedestrians have to go underground to get to the other side. If you take this street to the right, you will come to Red Square and the Kremlin. It would be a really nice walk if it were not winter, because on both sides are many restaurants, upscale shops, gift shops and cafes and everything is open in the evening. They have also decorated for the holidays.
This is a view from our hotel window. They put us on the "quiet" side; the inside. Every morning you would get up and see how much snow had fallen, usually one inch. Through the glass dome you could get a peek at the business center, gift shops, jewelry shop, beauty salon, florist, spa, etc. We could also exchange our money, get change, store our large suitcases in the baggage room when we went to St. Petersburg, make arrangements for a taxi, purchase post card stamps and have our questions answered. They spoke such great English!
The best thing was the concierge/dining room on the 8th floor. You could enter it on the 9th floor (this floor) and then go down the circular staircase to where the food and beverages were. We could have a free breakfast, beverages any time of the day and then evening snacks. What they call snacks is a meal for us! Our favorite night was when they served chicken wings and cheese cake.
