We've Arrived

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Our flight from Moscow arrived in Singapore at 5:30 am.  We breezed through customs, retrieved our suitcases and were glad that we did not have to get a taxi.  Jeremy, our son-in-law, was sent to pick us up, became our chauffeur and helped us drag the bags to the car.  It felt like we had lost another whole day of sleep, so after arriving at the house, they let us take a cat nap.  Mckenna was allowed to wake us at 11:00 am.  That allowed us enough time to shower, eat and find our clothes in preparation for church.  It was a challenge to keep our eyes open!  We were grateful for a quiet day and went to bed just after the kids.

This is the welcoming committee.

We were very happy to run into our good friend Jeff Stitt (far left) while attending church.  He had flown in from Australia for business so he was invited to the house for Sunday after-church pancakes.

We finally met Analea, in person.  She is Sarah and Jeremy's "helper".  She goes up and down the stairs a lot.  She is in charge of the laundry, cleaning, marketing, school lunches and dinner (and four kids) -- six days a week.  Her day off is Sunday, so we are on our own that day.  Analea is organized, hard-working and always pleasant and has a smile on her face.

This is where our daughter, Sarah, our son-in-law, Jeremy and our grandchildren are living while in Singapore.  Allison is now 16, Madison is 12, Parker is 9 and McKenna is 6.  Fortunately, they found a bedroom and a bathroom for us.

Since we visited Singapore two years ago, we pretty much know our way around.  We will spend our time at the house, church, school and be tourists.  We will try to do some of the things we did not do last time and re-visit our favorites.
