Hop On Hop Off

We finally got our "sea legs" under us and decided to venture out for the day.  Jeremy and Sarah are at work, and the kids are in school, so we get out the travel guides and choose someplace that the tourists go.  Today's adventure will be the Hop On Hop Off Bus and we need to take the Metro to Orchard Road.  It is a short, but sweaty, walk to Marsiling Station where we purchase tickets at a kiosk.  The train makes only a one-minute stop, so you can not dawdle.  It is approximately 45 minutes to downtown Singapore and our destination.  The trains are quiet, clean (no eating) and everyone is so polite.  There is seating for handicapped, elderly and expectant mothers.

Our top floor bus tour took us through the busy streets of Singapore and tree-lined roads so that we could have a quick drive-by of the embassies, Botanical Gardens, Singapore Flyer, the Fullerton Hotel, Marina Bay Sands, Clark Quay, Chinatown, The Raffles Hotel, People's Park Centre, Old Custom House, Little India, etc.

Singapore has the most amazing buildings and architecture.

After our bus tour, we ventured down Orchard Road, had lunch out and bought Kent a watch (since he left his watch and phone setting on his nightstand at home!).  We admired these long locks, not for everyday use but for some creative Halloween costumes.
